A Bill to Stop Republocrats


BE IT ENACTED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. The Gold Standard be immediately re-implemented as the basis of the United States dollar, replacing the investment banking manure that is currently being bought by the Treasury Department and The Federal Reserve Bank.

SECTION 2. “Investment Banking Manure” is referring to the trillions of dollars of derivatives of mortgages that are worth next to nothing, yet are currently being bought by the government with our money.

SECTION 3. An Independent Congressional Committee will oversee the implementation of this bill and will investigate any and all violations of the Constitution committed by Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke in this present crisis.

SECTION 4. The Committee will report back in a year of passage as to the progress of the previously stated sections.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A Bill to All Virginia Public Schools Systems to use Same Grading Scale

BE IT ENACTED THAT THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1: All Virginia public school systems are to adopt the same grading scale.
SECTION 2: The grading scale used will be the 10-point grading scale (A: 100-90, B: 89-80, C: 79-70, D: 69-65, and F: 64 and below)
SECTION 3: This bill shall take effect at the start of the 2009-2010 academic school year.
SECTION 4: The superintendent of each individual public school system is to oversee this. Failure to comply will result in loss of state funding.
SECTION 5: All laws in conflict with this bill will hereby be declared null and void.

Extinguishing the Dragon’s Flame: U.S. China Relations

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

Section 1. This bill recognizes and is in favor with the decision to stop the production of American products in China.
Section 2. This bill is in favor of cutting American product production in China.
Section 3. The bill will take effect as soon as it is passed by legislature.
Section 4. This bill will be overseen by the office of the United States Trade Representative.
Section 5. All conflicting legislation with the bill will be null and void.

A Bill to End Capital Punishment (Abolish the Death Penalty).

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

Section 1: The United States will no longer support capital punishment.

Section 2: Capital punishment including, but not limited to death by lethal injection, electrocution, and/or gas chambers. Instead, life in prison will be the mandatory maximum sentence for felonies that would normally result in the death penalty. Those on death row after this bill takes effect will have their sentences commuted to life in prison.

Section 3: The Department of Justice will oversee the enforcement of this bill.

Section 4: This bill shall take effect January 1st, 2009.

Section 5: All laws in conflict with this bill will hereby be declared null and void.

Economic- Investment Banking Bailouts


Resurrect the Resolution Trust Corporation Bill

Section 1. The United States Should reinstate the Resolution Trust Corporation otherwise known as RTC.

Section 2. The RTC would be a Government owned asset management company charged with liquidating assets, primarily real estate related, which included mortgage loans. This new RTC body would be able to buy up the troubled deals at fair market values, and where possible keeping people in their homes and businesses operating. The new RTC mechanism should have a limited life and be run by nonpartisan professional management.

Section 3. It will be overseen by the Office of Thrift Supervision. Failure to comply with this bill the Office of Thrift Supervision will receive and abrupt halt to its canny ability to branch out nation wide. As well as receive fines in further failure to comply.

Section 4. This Bill will go into effect immediately on passing. Meaning that the process of appointing members would begin. Then shortly after the RTC would be in full swing. The RTC will be given seven full years to complete its designated task.

Section 5. All laws in conflict with this new section of Government shall hereby declared null and void.

A Bill to Allow Capital Punishment for Violent Sex Offenders
Be it enacted by the student congress assembled here:

Section 1: Violent Sex offenders face the option of the death penatly upon conviction.

Section 2: A violent sexual crime is defined as any sexual crime that is especially heniousor extremely violent in nature.

Section 3: The court system will oversee the enforcement of this bill.

Section 4: This bill shall take effect immedietly upon passage.

A Bill to Eliminate the Requirement for No Child Left Behind in Virginia Public Schools


BE IT ENACTED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1. The Virginia Public Schools no longer must abide by the rules and regulations put forth by the “No Child Left Behind Act” from 2001
SECTION 2. The enactment on “No Child Left Behind” is a violation of state rights and therefore must be the rules and regulation se must be revoked
SECTION 3. The Virginia Department of Education will oversee this bill.
SECTION 4. The 2009-2010 school year.
SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
