WHEREAS: The state of Virginia has approximately 7,882,000 residents that make up 11 electoral districts and
WHEREAS: the practice of gerrymandering includes the creation of electoral districts in an attempt to gain a political advantage and
WHEREAS: the practice of gerrymandering has created electoral districts that are noncontiguous and cut through county borders,
BE IT RESOLVED by this Congress here assembled that the state of Virginia will redraw its electoral districts without the use of gerrymandering in the year 2013 using data compiled from the 2010 census.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT: Section 1: Mining of Uranium is to be allowed in Virginia, taking place at least 5 miles away from water in takes. Section 2: Uranium is a very hard, heavy and silvery, moderately malleable radioactive metallic chemical element. Mining is the act, process or work of removing ores from a mine. A water intake is a structure through which water enters or exits a conduit Section 3 The government agency tasked with overseeing the mining would be a combination of the EPA and Department of Energy. Department of Energy would oversee the mining and EPA would oversee the environmental issue and concerns. Section 4 The implementation date will be November 1st 2012 Section 5 All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void. A Resolution to Increase the Defense Spending WHEREAS, the defense spending has been cut to its lowest gross domestic product since 1939; and WHEREAS, the unemployment rate for December 2011 is 8.5%; and WHEREAS, an increase of the defense spending would increase job opportunities; and WHEREAS, an increased military would allow the United States to maintain its paramount influence around the globe; and WHEREAS, those affected by the military deserve their respect for their enormous sacrifice; and now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, By the Congress here assembled that the United States would increase its defense budget to promote American interests across the world and at home. A Resolution To Add Non-Western Sports To The Olympics
WHEREAS, most of the Olympic sports are popular in western nations many eastern countries are underrepresented WHEREAS, only those nations that assimilate and participate in western sports are successful in the Olympics WHEREAS, there are more countries in the East than there are in West RESOLVE, the Olympics denotes equality and peace and yet those with lesser political influence are subjugated under Western powers. To end this is simple. By adding more sports of an Eastern nature would broaden Olympian participants and help define equality.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT: Section 1. Uranium ore is used in nuclear power, a method deemed as a solution to the current global energy crisis. However, this means of energy, thought to be beneficial in a majority of aspects, is most harmful at its very core. The current methods of mining uranium deplete the mining locations and ravage environmental communities. While nuclear power is essential to the worldly means of power supply, the United States must prohibit exploitation of mining in environmentally protected areas and must mine in moderation. Section 2. Uranium mining is the extracting of uranium ore from the ground; uranium is then used in the process of nuclear power generation. Protected Environments include regions essential to the the conservation of biodiversity. Section 3. This piece of legislation will be overseen by the Environmental Protection Agency. SECTION 4. A Bill Regarding Mortgage Crisis BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT: SECTION 1. The United States Government will no longer give any funding to create mortgage backed securities. The Federal Government will also not participate in the mortgage securities market. SECTION 2. A mortgage backed security is when the government insures that a financial instrument involving a mortgage is secured by providing financial capital as a means of the security. SECTION 3. The Treasury will be responsible for the enforcement of this bill. SECTION 4. This law will take effect within two months of passage. SECTION 5. Whereas The USFG holds the power to implement gun laws that hold true to "The Right to Bear Arms" while also improving public safety.
