Villiger


Two Tidewater Debate League member schools competed at the Villiger Speech and Debate Tournament held November 22nd and 23rd at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In the Varsity division of policy debate, the hybrid Kempsville High School and Frank W. Cox team of Adora Parker (Kempsville) and Oliver Brass (Cox) went 4-1 in preliminary competition and advanced to Octofinals where they defeated Stuyvesant DK (New York) on a 3-0 decision. In Quarterfinals, they dropped to Stuyvesant KL on a 2-1 decision. Adora Parker also took 6th-place speaker. The Kempsville teams of Jade Kreissler and Samuel Ross and Ellison Turpin and Sandy Kilpatrick went 3-2 and 2-3 in preliminary competition, respectively, and did not advance.

Florida Blue Key


Two Tidewater Debate League member schools competed at the Florida Blue Key Speech and Debate Tournament held October 31st - November 2nd at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

In the Varsity division of policy debate, the hybrid Kempsville High School and Frank W. Cox team of Adora Parker (Kempsville) and Oliver Brass (Cox) went 4-2 in preliminary competition and advanced to Octofinals where they dropped to Ft. Lauderdale RW (Florida) on a 2-1 decision. The Kempsville teams of Jade Kreissler and Samuel Ross and Aaron Firova and Sandy Kilpatrick went 3-3 and 1-5 in preliminary competition, respectively, and did not advance.

A Tidewater Debate League member school competed at the New York City Invitational held October 24th - 26th at the Bronx High School of Science in New York.

In the Varsity division of policy debate, the Kempsville High School team of Adora Parker and Samuel Ross went 4-2 in preliminary competition. Adora Parker took 5th-place speaker.
